STRUGGLING?
Is there an area of life where you are struggling? Maybe you’ve experienced the loss of home or family? Maybe it’s something a little less dire, but it still weighs on you. Whatever it is, surrender it to the Lord. Tell hm that you trust in him to take care of you. (Psalm 23.) Even when it’s a struggle, keep turning to him and seeking his grace.
And don’t forget that trusting in God means taking action as well. It means stepping out in faith and believing that, even if you make a wrong turn, God will guide you and help you along the way.
(The above two paragraphs are from an August 20th meditation from The Word Among Us and
were based on scripture from Ruth 1:1, 3-6, 14-16, 22.)
This next bit of information is from a letter recently sent to me, signed by Will Graham, about the Graham association’s new Gospel TV Support and Prayer line. Under the subheading, “Maybe you’ve just lost hope…” Will writes, “My father, Franklin Graham, recently released a new 60-second TV spot, which aired on local and national networks as well as social media, and we’re seeing people respond to it every day.”
“Are you pandemic weary?” He asked in the spot. “Maybe you think your life is in a mess.” After sharing the Gospel, he directed people to call the 24/7 prayer line to talk with someone and begin a relationship with Jesus Christ.”
“Among those who recently called was Jason, a combat veteran who has spent years battling guilt and shame over some of the things he had to do in service to his country. He had come across the televised Gospel presentation and prayed along with my father, giving his life—and his burden—over to Jesus. Our prayer line representative was able to pray and rejoice with Jason, assuring him that the blood of Christ has the power to overcome his past.”
Will points out, in his letter, that since the beginning of the year, the BGEA prayer line team has answered over 101,000 calls, and over 1,000 people have prayed to surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. We here at Encounters with God applaud all efforts which encourage people to reach out to God any way they can.
